Sound isn't working, what should I do?

Below are some troubleshooting fixes for sound issues. If you go through these steps and are still having issues, please reach out to us at hello@schooloftraditionalskills.com and we will be happy to assist you further!

  1. Check Sound Settings:
    • On your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel.
    • Look for the gear symbol (settings) and tap on it.
    • In the settings menu, look for "Sound" or "Audio" options.
    • Make sure the volume is not muted and adjust the sound volume as needed.
  2. Physical Volume Buttons:
    • Check if your phone has physical volume buttons on the sides.
    • Press these buttons to increase the sound volume. Make sure it's not on silent or vibrate mode.
  3. Video Sound Icon:
    • When watching a video on your phone, there should be a sound icon at the bottom of the video. Tap it to turn the sound on. If there's an 'x' next to it, it usually indicates that the sound is muted. Tapping it should unmute the sound.
  4. Transcribe Button Issue:
    • If accidentally pressing the Transcribe button caused the issue, try the following:
      • Open the Transcribe feature, if possible.
      • Check for any mute or volume control within the Transcribe feature and adjust it as needed.
      • If that doesn't work, consider disabling or uninstalling the Transcribe feature if you don't use it.
  5. Try Different Browser:
    • Try using a different browser to see if the problem is browser-specific.
  6. Check Video Specifics:
    • Ensure that the videos on the School of Traditional Skills website are not muted within the video player itself. The individual videos have their own mute settings.
  7. Restart Device:
    • Restart the phone after making these adjustments to ensure that any changes take effect.
